A Brass 2-Way Ball Valve is a straight-through inline isolation valve designed for positive on/off fluid shutoff. It features a precision-machined spherical brass ball with a cylindrical through-bore suspended between two resilient polymer seats. A 90-degree (quarter-turn) rotation of the operating handle aligns the bore with the piping axis for unobstructed full flow, while a 90-degree turn perpendicular to the line rotates the solid sphere face into the stream, blocking fluid completely. The low-friction quarter-turn actuation allows fast shut-off and clear visual status indication.
Pioneer Industries Brass 2-Way Ball Valves are rated for working pressures up to 6,000 PSI (400 bar) in standard models with virgin PTFE seats. High-pressure heavy-duty versions utilizing polyacetal (Delrin) or PCTFE (Kel-F) seats are rated up to 10,000 PSI (700 bar). All valves adhere strictly to ASME B31.3 process piping design codes with a minimum certified 4:1 hydrostatic burst safety factor. The standard operational temperature envelope spans -20°C to +200°C (-4°F to +392°F), customizable with specialized fluoropolymer and Viton seals.
Full Port (Full Bore) valves possess an internal ball bore diameter identical to the inside diameter of the connecting pipeline or tube. This design delivers maximum flow capacity (Cv), near-zero pressure drop, and minimal turbulence, making it ideal for viscous fluids or piggable lines. Standard Port (Reduced Bore) valves feature a ball bore one nominal size smaller than the pipe diameter, resulting in a lighter body, lower operating torque, and cost efficiency in instrumentation and sampling systems where minor pressure drop is acceptable.
A blow-out proof stem is engineered with an integral machined lower shoulder that is physically larger than the bonnet neck orifice. The stem is inserted from inside the valve body cavity rather than from the exterior. Under extreme internal hydrostatic pressures, system over-pressurization, or external packing maintenance, the shoulder mechanically locks against the valve body wall, completely preventing the stem from ejecting outward and eliminating catastrophic hazards for field operators.
Our valve bodies are precision-machined from high-density hot-forged and extruded brass conforming to IS 319 Grade 1, BS 218, CW614N (CuZn39Pb3), and ASTM B16. High-density forging completely eliminates micro-porosity and gas weeping. For enhanced chemical resistance in corrosive marine or acidic atmospheres, we provide electro-deposited nickel plating, electroless nickel plating (ENP), or hard chrome plating on the internal spherical ball core to resist particulate abrasion.

Every Pioneer Industries Brass 2-Way Ball Valve undergoes 100% individual pressure testing compliant with API 598 and BS EN 12266-1. Testing includes a hydrostatic shell proof test at 1.5 times the maximum cold working pressure and high-pressure underwater pneumatic nitrogen seat tests at 1,000 PSI to guarantee zero bubble leakage. Dimensional accuracy, thread pitch verification, and Positive Material Identification (PMI) are documented in EN 10204 Type 3.1 Material Test Certificates.
For optimum service longevity: (1) Flush the upstream pipeline thoroughly to remove welding slag, metal shavings, and debris prior to installation; (2) Apply high-grade PTFE thread paste or tape strictly to male pipe threads, avoiding tape overrun that could shear into the valve cavity; (3) Do not over-torque threaded connections into the valve body; (4) Periodically cycle valves that remain in one position for months to prevent seat sticking; (5) Replace stem packings and seat rings using genuine Pioneer rebuild kits during scheduled maintenance.
