Brass Vibra-Lok Fittings Supplier

Studies of tubing failure resulting from vibration have shown this failure in the majority of cases to be caused by fracture of the tubing at the point of connection. These fractures are the result of either fatigue of the metal caused by constant vibration and shock, or of distortion of the tube in making the joint.

The Pioneer Vibra-Lok fitting makes a joint that is virtually indestructible by vibration and will withstand considerable shock and major tube movement. In the Vibra-Lok fitting, the tubing is cushioned against all such damage by the elastic sleeve.

The sleeve of the Vibra-Lok fitting is made of a special Buna-N elastic sealing material. This elastic sleeve forms a cushion between tubing and fitting. It assures a positive, pressure tight seal, permits the tube to flex back and forth in the fitting. Seal design compensates for tube misalignment and tube surface defects during assembly. Special Vibra-Lok sleeves resist deterioration and retain flexibility over a wide temperature range.

A Brass Vibra-Lok Fitting is a high-reliability vibration-resistant tube connector specifically engineered for severe mechanical shock and dynamic pulsation applications. Instead of metal ferrules or flared tube ends that concentrate stress, the Vibra-Lok fitting utilizes a specialized elastomeric sleeve (custom-compounded Buna-N or Viton/FKM). When the brass compression nut is tightened, the elastic sleeve compresses radially around the tubing, forming a thick, resilient cushion. This cushion provides an airtight, fluid-tight seal while simultaneously isolating the tubing from mechanical vibration, preventing metal fatigue and point-of-connection stress concentrations.
In standard rigid compression or flared joints, constant high-frequency vibration concentrates cyclical bending moments at the rigid bite edge or flare neck, resulting in premature metal fatigue and tube shearing. Vibra-Lok eliminates this failure mode because the tubing is completely suspended in a flexible elastomeric matrix. The tube is allowed to flex angularly and axially within the fitting without metal-to-metal gouging, absorbing major shock loads and dampening harmonic vibrations from heavy engines, compressors, and hydraulic pumps.
Pioneer Industries supplies Vibra-Lok sleeves in two primary compounds: Standard Buna-N (Nitrile), engineered for petroleum fuels, engine oils, air lines, and water from -35°C to +100°C (-30°F to +212°F); and High-Temperature Fluorocarbon (Viton / FKM), suited for synthetic lubricants, aggressive fuels, hydraulic fluids, and elevated operating temperatures from -26°C to +204°C (-15°F to +400°F). Both compounds maintain exceptional elasticity and resist permanent compression set over extended operating lifetimes.
Vibra-Lok fittings safely handle working pressures up to 2,000 PSI (approx. 140 bar) in small sizes (1/8″ to 1/4″ OD), and up to 500 to 1,000 PSI (approx. 35 to 70 bar) in larger sizes up to 7/8″ OD, depending on matching tube wall strength. Additionally, because the elastic sleeve establishes a continuous circumferential 360-degree seal around the tube outer diameter, Vibra-Lok provides exceptional vacuum holding capability down to 29.5 in. Hg (vacuum systems and suction lines).
No. Vibra-Lok is a 100% cold, non-destructive flareless fitting. It requires zero tube flaring, threading, grooving, soldering, or brazing. Installation requires only square-cutting and deburring the tube end, sliding the nut and elastic sleeve onto the tube, inserting the tube into the fitting body until it bottoms against the internal stop, and tightening the nut finger-tight plus one full turn with an open-end wrench.
Because the sealing element is resilient elastomer rather than rigid metal, the Vibra-Lok sleeve readily accommodates minor tube out-of-roundness, shallow longitudinal scratches, and angular misalignments up to 2 to 4 degrees during assembly without leaking. Rigid metal ferrules often leak if tubing has slight surface abrasions; the Vibra-Lok elastomer flows into microscopic surface imperfections to maintain an absolute airtight seal.
Yes. Vibra-Lok joints can be repeatedly disassembled and reassembled in the field without damaging the metal tubing or fitting body.
