Pioneer Industries is an established manufacturer and global exporter of forged Brass Flare Female Elbows engineered to provide reliable 90-degree directional transitions between 45° flared tubing and male NPT pipe threads in compact refrigeration, HVAC, and pneumatic piping assemblies.
The Brass Flare Female Elbow by Pioneer Industries is a premium 90-degree forged fitting engineered to solve tight angular routing challenges in fluid and gas handling circuits. Featuring a precision-machined 45° male flare cone on one port and a tapered female NPT pipe port on the perpendicular port, this elbow allows designers to navigate around chassis obstacles, compressor shells, and control panels while maintaining unimpeded laminar flow characteristics.
Manufactured strictly to SAE J512 and SAE J513 refrigeration standards, each elbow is hot-forged from BS 218 / CW617N brass alloy. The forging process generates an uninterrupted, contoured grain structure that aligns with the fluid pathway, imparting superior fatigue resistance and eliminating wall porosity under pulsating hydraulic shocks and thermal contraction cycles.
Serving industrial markets across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, Pioneer Industries is a preferred manufacturing partner for HVAC manufacturers, cryogenic specialists, and mobile hydraulics builders. Our centralized manufacturing facility in Mumbai maintains rigorous quality controls and substantial raw material reserves to fulfill both standard and custom dimensional orders promptly.
Every forged Brass Flare Female Elbow is subjected to exhaustive quality verification, including 100% thread gauging, 45-degree angle profile verification, and pressure decay testing. Mill test certificates conforming to EN 10204 Type 3.1 are provided with every dispatched lot.

In complex refrigeration condensing units and industrial machinery control cabinets, space constraints often prevent straight tube entries into male-threaded components. Pioneer Industries’ Brass Flare Female Elbow provides an ultra-compact 90° solution. The female NPT side threads directly onto male sensor ports, sight glasses, or pipe nipples, while the flared end provides a secure 45° metal-to-metal connection for copper tubing.
The robust forged body features generous wrench pads at the elbow turn, giving technicians solid purchase with an adjustable or open-end wrench during makeup. This prevents twisting of the tube or damaging adjacent instrumentation while torquing the flare nut or pipe joint.
Pioneer Industries manufactures Brass Flare Female Elbows in standard fractional sizes from 1/8" to 3/4" tube OD with 1/8" to 3/4" female NPT pipe threads. Operating pressures up to 4,000 PSI (276 bar). Conforms to SAE J512, SAE J513, ASME B16.26, and BS EN 12165 standards.
Explore comprehensive engineering dimensional configurations for Fractional Inch Series, Metric Series, and Certified Material Specifications. Manufactured according to SAE J512, SAE J513, ASME B16.26, and international standards.

A Brass Flare Female Elbow is a 90-degree adapter designed to connect a 45° flared tube to a male pipe-threaded connection in confined spaces where a straight connector would cause sharp tube bends or mechanical interference.
Hot forging creates a dense, continuous metallic grain flow following the 90° contour of the elbow. This eliminates the weak internal planes and porosity that can occur when drilling perpendicular passages into extruded brass bar, giving the elbow superior burst strength and fatigue resistance.
Tapered NPT pipe threads tighten via wedge action. When threading the elbow onto a male pipe nipple, tighten it finger-tight, then rotate it using a wrench 2 to 3 full turns until the flare end points precisely in the desired orientation. Never loosen the elbow to achieve orientation, as this compromises pipe thread seal integrity.
No. Pioneer Industries engineers the internal core with smooth transition radii matching the inside diameter of the connected copper tubing, minimizing eddy currents and head loss compared to square-corner mitered fittings.
Because our Brass Flare Female Elbow is an all-brass metallic component with metal-to-metal flare sealing, it operates reliably from -54°C to +121°C (-65°F to +250°F), making it ideal for both sub-zero refrigeration and hot discharge vapor lines.
Yes. 45° flare fittings are approved by NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code) and ASME standards for LPG, propane, and natural gas systems, offering a fire-safe joint that does not melt or fail during moderate fire exposure.
Recommended assembly torque varies with tube size: 10–15 ft-lbs for 1/4" (7/16-20 thread), 20–30 ft-lbs for 3/8" (5/8-18 thread), and 35–50 ft-lbs for 1/2" (3/4-16 thread). Over-torquing can crush the copper flare and should be avoided.
No. PTFE tape or thread sealant must ONLY be applied to the female NPT pipe threads. The 45° male flare nose must remain completely clean and dry, as it seals mechanically on the flared tubing face.
Our elbows are hot-forged from BS 218 / CW617N (ASTM B283 C37700) forging brass, composed of 57–59% Copper, 1.6–2.5% Lead, and remainder Zinc, providing high ductility and ultimate tensile strength exceeding 440 MPa.
Every production lot is subjected to 100% pneumatic leak testing under water, dimensional verification using optical CMM equipment, and destructive hydrostatic burst testing to confirm a minimum 4:1 safety factor.
