Pioneer Industries is an industry-leading manufacturer and global exporter of forged Brass Flare Male Elbows, engineered to provide leak-free 90-degree angular transitions between 45° flared tubing and female NPT pipe ports in high-pressure refrigeration, HVAC, and pneumatic machinery.
The Brass Flare Male Elbow manufactured by Pioneer Industries is an essential 90-degree directional adapter for industrial fluid and gas piping systems. Featuring a precision CNC-machined 45° SAE male flare cone on one port and a tapered male national pipe thread (NPT) on the perpendicular port, this elbow allows piping designers to route flared copper or brass tubing into female equipment ports with zero tube kinking or sharp bending.
Manufactured to SAE J512, SAE J513, and ASME B16.26 refrigeration standards, each male elbow is hot-forged from premium BS 218 / CW617N forging brass alloy. The hot forging process produces a continuous, dense crystalline grain structure around the 90° curve, delivering superior burst strength, high shock absorption, and immunity to porosity under demanding cyclic operating conditions.
Pioneer Industries delivers high-performance Brass Flare Male Elbows to commercial refrigeration manufacturers, chiller plants, petrochemical facilities, and marine engineering contractors across more than 85 countries worldwide. With massive inventory stocks in Mumbai, India, we ensure rapid dispatch on all standard fractional and metric configurations.
Every forged elbow is manufactured under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system utilizing high-precision multi-axis machining centers. All dispatches are supported by EN 10204 Type 3.1 material test certificates and comprehensive 100% pneumatic leak test documentation.

In tight equipment enclosures, such as refrigeration condensing units, air conditioning evaporator cabinets, and hydraulic valve skids, straight tube runs to female-threaded components are frequently impossible. Pioneer Industries’ Brass Flare Male Elbow provides a rigid, ultra-compact 90-degree solution that threads directly into the female port and presents an aligned 45° flare nose for tubing connection.
The heavy forged brass body incorporates wide wrench flats at the corner, allowing technicians to apply proper counter-torque during flare nut tightening without stressing the pipe thread joint. The 100% metal-to-metal flare seal operates reliably across extreme temperatures from -54°C to +121°C without synthetic gaskets or O-rings.
Pioneer Industries manufactures Brass Flare Male Elbows in fractional sizes from 1/8" to 3/4" tube OD with 1/8" to 3/4" male NPT pipe threads. Operating pressures up to 4,000 PSI (276 bar). Complies with SAE J512, SAE J513, ASME B16.26, and BS EN 12165 standards.

A Brass Flare Male Elbow is a 90-degree forged brass adapter with a 45° SAE male flare connection on one end and a male NPT pipe thread on the other. It allows technicians to connect 45° flared tubing to a female-threaded port at a right angle, saving space and preventing tube kinking.
The 90° male elbow changes the fluid direction by a full right angle (90 degrees), making it ideal for perpendicular port entries. A 45° male elbow changes fluid direction by only 45 degrees, which is preferred for gentler sweep angles and lower pressure drop in high-velocity lines.
Hot forging aligns the metallic grain flow continuously around the 90° elbow curve. This delivers vastly superior tensile and burst strength compared to elbows machined from extruded bar, and eliminates microscopic porosity that could allow refrigerant gases to weep over time.
Thread the male NPT end into the female port finger-tight, then tighten with a wrench 2 to 3 full turns until the flare port faces the exact direction needed for the incoming tubing. Never loosen the elbow to achieve alignment, as this can break the pipe thread seal.
Use an approved anaerobic PTFE paste sealant or gas-certified PTFE tape on the male NPT threads only. Do not put sealant on the male flare threads or cone, as the flare joint seals metal-to-metal.
Depending on tube size, working pressure ratings range from 2,500 PSI (172 bar) for 5/8" tubing to 4,000 PSI (276 bar) for 1/4" tubing, backed by an engineered 4:1 minimum safety burst factor.
Yes. Pioneer Industries’ Brass Flare Male Elbows are fully rated for all high-pressure modern refrigerants including R-410A, R-32, R-404A, and R-134a, operating safely across temperatures from -54°C to +121°C.
Always place a wrench on the forged wrench flat of the elbow to hold it rigid while using a second wrench to tighten the flare nut. This prevents accidental over-tightening or loosening of the pipe thread connection.
Our elbows are hot-forged from BS 218 / CW617N (ASTM B283 C37700) forging brass alloy, delivering ultimate tensile strength above 440 MPa and exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Every export consignment is accompanied by EN 10204 Type 3.1 inspection certificates documenting chemical analysis, mechanical properties, and 100% pneumatic bubble leak testing under water.
